The precise date of its establishment is uncertain but it can be assumed that the garden was established in the late 1800s.

Ownership of Upper Fagu Tea Estate

Upper Fagu Tea Estate is owned by the Baghmari Group of the Bajoria family under the company, Baghmari Tea Industries Limited who also own a number of tea estate in the Dooars area which produces CTC teas.

Location of Upper Fagu Tea Garden

The garden is located 20km form Malbazar, near Gorumara National Park in Kalimpong (sub-district), the northern part of the Darjeeling district. The garden may be reached either from Darjeeling town which is at a distance of 90km or from Siliguri which is at a distance of 60km. The nearest Darjeeling tea garden is Ambiok Tea Garden (Hilton).

Darjeeling Teas of Upper Fagu Tea Garden

This garden has 103 hectares of cultivable land which produces orthodox Darjeeling black and Darjeeling green teas mainly from the china cultivar grown at an altitude of 1300ft from the sea level.
The first flush tea is one of the best coming out from their stable and has a good fan following within India and abroad.
